so fond of the word pop?
in the last couple of months, i've been asked to pop on or off various items of clothes, to pop thermometers under my tongue, to pop various body parts onto x-ray tables and pop tablets into my mouth.
i've also had several needles and drips popped into my body, too.
what is it with the popping?

It is based on the technique of quickly contracting and relaxing muscles to cause a jerk in the dancer's body, referred to as a pop or a hit. This is done continuously to the rhythm of a song in combination with various movements and poses. Popping is also used as an umbrella term to refer to a group of closely related illusionary dance styles and techniques that are often integrated with popping to create a more varied performance, such as the robot, waving and tutting.

is that they are used to talking to children and stupid people. They don't see any reason to be different when they are talking to you.

I stopped doing it. If I catch anyone else using the word then I kindly ask them to tell me what action they are suggesting might occur as a result of invoking the word "pop". An exploding dog / cat on my consulting table is something I'm not too keen on the idea of.
