Last day of school.On our last day of school, before we entered the big wide world, our RE teacher said he had something important he wanted to share with us. We were expecting something profound and moving, maybe even how much he was going to miss teaching us. But what he said was this:
"Remember boys and girls, the world doesn't owe you a living."
That was 30 years ago. It's probably the best bit of advice I was ever given at school.
