This is a question Bad gigs

Been to see some talentless gits on stage recently? Had your enjoyment spoiled by a twat with an iPad filming the whole thing? Been bottled off? Tell us all

The Gig that Never Happened
Kidderminster, circa 1983. Ive just discovered the joys of Metal, thanks to a copy of Iron Maiden's "Number of the Beast" album. Me and my mate see in the listings (probably in Kerrang!!!) that there's a 3 band thrash mini tour coming to Birmingham Odeon - Metallica, Exciter and a 3rd band I cant remember. We bought tickets, near the front (row C i recall)...and it was cancelled due to lack of interest. So i could have seen Metallica before they were famous!

that's nothing.
i narrowly missed seeing the beatles live at shea stadium, simply by not being born until some years later.

But I had a ticket!

I had a ticket for that too!
It was a Music For Nations tour and the other band was The Rods. I'd been looking forward to it for fucking months, must have been just after "Ride the Lightning" came out. Tickets were £4.50, (with a 50p off coupon in Kerrang!!). Me and my mate, 14 years old, went all the way over to Birmingham, to find the Odeon locked up and the "Show Cancelled" sign in the window (later to be found to be due to insufficient ticket sales across the whole country).

We ended up going around the corner to some shitty venue to see a band called Battleaxe. They were appalling.

Yeah, that was a gutter. Saw them the next year in Germany supporting Venom though.
:D
