Bad Management
Tb2571989 says Bad Management isn't just a great name for a heavy metal band - what kind of rubbish work practices have you had to put up with?

Bad management?!
I had my 'one to one' with my boss last week. He simply stated:
'I don't understand the work you do, and when I'm in a meeting with you, I don't understand what your talking about, but my bosses do and it all sounds impressive, and they love it, so keep doing what you do, and just keep me informed with an update every month.'
I work in IT. Am I actually Dilbert?!
(*one to one being the half yearly appraisal we get that determines whether we get a pay rise/bonus/the sack)

That's not bad management, that's fucking ace.
Seriously, if this guy ever talks about leaving, nail him to the floor. Being left alone is the pinnacle of workplace achievement.

In that respect it's a great situation
I can even justify time spent on the interwebs as either 'research' or 'thinking' time. The problem is the fact I work for a large corporation. When it comes to deciding whether I get a pay rise or a bonus, it's my boss who sits in a room with a whole load of other bosses and has to justify why he wants to give me more money/bonus/not sack me. He can't do this because when they ask him to justify it, all he can say is 'he does stuff that's good and people like that stuff that is good stuff'.
That said, you're right. It is pretty awesome for me!!

The response is...
"Keep paying me big wheelbarrow-fulls of cash, I'll keep making you look like a legend."
