He never recovered
My manager, last week, just a month or so after I started at my new job:
"We had to sack the guy in London after he lost his head a little. I don't think he ever recovered from a customer putting a gun to his head, but don't worry, that doesn't happen too often."
It was a worrying enough sentence even without implying that it's happened more than once.

*nods*
Mate of mine worked for a legal firm with many dodgy clients.
One day, a client asked her, 'Do you like my tie?'
As it was a rather gruesome tie she said 'Nah, not much!
He then drew a gun and pointed it at her. 'How d'you like it now?'
She stared and replied 'Nope, no better!'
He laughed and said 'Oh, I like you, girl!'
She was six months pregnant at the time and soon decided to start her maternity leave right away.
