That's just awful news.Sadly the law only protects those who lose 'dependents'. In which case the length of service doesn't matter. The only hope for comeback is to check the companys own bereavement/compassionate leave policy, (which they should have) and see what that says.
Not that I'm sure he want's to go back to work for an utter hateful nasty cunt like that.
