Beautiful Moments, Part Two
Last week I saw a helium balloon cross the road at the lights on a perfectly timed gust of wind. Today I saw four people trying to get into a GWiz electric car. They failed.
What's the best thing you've seen recently?

People often say that the miricle of childbirth is a beautiful moment
Having witnessed the birth of my daughter I can honestly say that though my spawn is indeed beautiful the moment wasn't. Sweat, shit, blood and screaming is in no way beautiful, neither is watching a womans vagina somehow stretch to the size of a babies head.

next time stuff a bunch of silk hankies tied together up her snizz on the way in to the hospital
it won't alleviate the blood and shit and sweat and yelling, but it will probably freak the midwife and doctors out enough to make up for it.

Hospital, wossat then?
3 home births in water.
Bloody marvellous every time. First one especially - DS1 floated up with a "well, what's *this* all about then?" expression on his face.
No crying (hospital delivery suites are well designed as baby frightening units), no being dictated to by medical staff with their personal timetable to next fag break, and any nastiness of bodily fluids highly diluted in a large volume of water.

i did have a bit of a cry both times though.
