Thanks for reminding me
The thrill of having my very own bedroom to myself in our new house was slightly marred by it having black woodchip walls, navy blue gloss woodwork, skirting board and ceiling and orange shag pile carpet.
Was nearly 2 years before my parents got round to redecorating it.
How the hell I didnt become a depressed emo goth growing up in that amazes me

Did you buy a house off my parents?
We had deep purple woodwork and orange walls and lose-your-feet shagpile in the 1970s. We even had carpet on one of the walls for a few years. "You've got carpet on your wall." My mates would say. "Yes we do." I would say. "And a rockery in the corner of the room." They would say. "Yes we do." I would say. "Subbuteo is shit on shag pile." They would say.

Carpet on the walls?
That sounds grim.

What did they do to you?
Carpet on the walls being a cheap soundproofing
