it's a bad isea in other ways tooIf the medicine is delivered in gelcaps they are designed for slow release. Biting into them means all that medicine that was meant to drip feed hits in a wallop. With OTC products its probably not too dangerous but they may deliberately make the taste foul to encourage you to spit it out.
I think it was Nurofen plus which had two liquid sections,one of which contained only the plus bit which was codeine. Surprisingly popular for some reason.

YepAgreed! I was approaching previously uncharted levels of boredom at the time though! I'll admit, I wasn't expecting it to taste minty or anything, but I was NOT prepared for that!
