Either that's an Aussie thing......or you're thinking of the tube which generates the microwaves. That'll be a Magnetron. They should have had a transformer called that anyway so it's not really your fault.

Yeah, that's what I had written in the first place, but I can't remember so changed it.Aussie things - we like to do it differently out here.
