My mate at Uni*wanted a system to deter people to stop walking in on him whilst in the middle of relaxing in a gentleman's way. So he rigged up a large Tesla coil in the hallway which he finely calibrated to arc across to the front door handle if anyone touched it from outside.
Oh how we laughed when he was jailed for manslaughter by gross negligence.
*Not true, I never went to Uni. Or have any mates.
