This book changed my life
The Goat writes, "Some books have made a huge impact on my life." It's true. It wasn't until the b3ta mods read the Flashman novels that we changed from mild-mannered computer operators into heavily-whiskered copulators, poltroons and all round bastards in a well-known cavalry regiment.
What books have changed the way you think, the way you live, or just gave you a rollicking good time?
Friendly hint: A bit of background rather than just a bunch of book titles would make your stories more readable

"His Dark Materials"
I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned yet.
From the moment i started to read it i was captivated.
It's one of the most intriguing books i have ever read. The best thing about this book, is the author manages to relate his feelings of happiness to you, (do i hear a woo!), by means of making you recall such moments in your life.
Why does he do this?
SO HE CAN DESTROY THEM. It sucks, hard. I hardly ever feel down because of a book, but this just made me feel shite.
Boo.
That is all.

Book 1 was a masterpiece of SF
Books 2 and 3 got a bit silly. For a supposedly anti-religious book it's a bit God-heavy for me. But the invention of wheeled creatures that go about on round seed pods was a triumph.

*clicks*
The first time I finished the first book it took my breath away, and I had to go back a few chapters and read it again. I've since read all three about 10 times each, and they're still breathtaking. If I ever have children I'll force them to read these books.

Loved all of them
But it was the last one which I was drawn to most of all....the ideas about quantum physics I found really stimulating.
Great to read stuff which is, in my opinion, Good Literature aimed at children.
