This book changed my life
The Goat writes, "Some books have made a huge impact on my life." It's true. It wasn't until the b3ta mods read the Flashman novels that we changed from mild-mannered computer operators into heavily-whiskered copulators, poltroons and all round bastards in a well-known cavalry regiment.
What books have changed the way you think, the way you live, or just gave you a rollicking good time?
Friendly hint: A bit of background rather than just a bunch of book titles would make your stories more readable

Now don't laugh but...
I'm quite a fan of Alan Bennett.
I love his genteel story telling and he can be very funny.
I've even got a bit of a crush on him.

me too!
well, not a crush - he was one of my childhood heroes (along with David Attenborough and Micheal Rosen) because he read the Winnie the Pooh books and Alice in Wonderland on tapes. He has such a wonderful voice - growing up in London, I was very confused as a three year old by his dulcet northern tones but decided 'he has a funny voice, but I like it'. His delivery is excellent and he knows just how to tell a story.
Oh dear, thanks to those tapes I can quote Winnie the Pooh off by heart in certain segments, but only doing the voices the way he used to!
