Books
We love books. Tell us about your favourite books and authors, and why they are so good. And while you're at it - having dined out for years on the time I threw Dan Brown out of a train window - tell us who to avoid.

Being quite fond of Stephen King's output,
and having read (and enjoyed) The Little Sisters of Eluria, I picked up a copy of the first Dark Tower novel for a pittance in Oxfam.
Having heard great things about the series (probably from someone on here), I was very much looking forward to reading it. Which was a shame, as it was awful.
Mercifully short, though.

I've found it easier to just
check Wikipedia to explain the references in his other works, thus saving me from having to read about extra characters that I don't really care about.
As for the levellers, yes, I did, and I owe you a high five.
*high fives*

The first one is more a tidbit.
A tiny, tiny taste of things to come. They are a bit like the Harry Potter books. The first one is simple but by number 7 your engrossed.
