Links can be (/is) very slow to load, so replying in threads can be a pain.
The reply box pops up inline, but how about if the reply was posted back to the server ajax-stylee and your reply inserted in the DOM when the ajax responds?
It would also mean you could reply to a vid before it had finished, without interrupting the vid.
/edit: Let me translate that bollocks for the non-techies: Stop the whole of /links reloading when you post a comment.

you mean "use a technique for manipulating the page on the fly, invented about 6 years before Facebook existed", then yes Brayn, that is EXACTLY what I mean.
