I shall also have to add my plea for the old stylePerhaps I'm just not good with change, but I preferred the old method of single-thread conversation. The joy of Off-Topic was that if you wanted a different conversation, you could just start a new thread, rather than having several branching conversations that somehow intertwined. I think it just fits our idiom better.
May be aggrandising qotw a little much by suggesting we have an 'idiom.'
