Actually that's trueMen *do* have a hormonal cycle. It's usually subtle, though.
But the schoolboy-error you made there was to think that an excuse that SHE is allowed to use - eg "I'm moody because of my hormones" - would be considered valid when YOU use it. Really, have you learned nothing about women?
