don't get me wrong...I was choking back my lunch and hoping against hope that he couldn't read in my face the utter utter horror I was seeing. I like to think the last thing he saw was my face and knew he wasn't dying on his jack but I doubt he could even feel my hand, having no spinal column any more. It haunted me for years and years and made me super wary crossing the road. And then some years later I read about a bus driver on the number 36 getting his eyes gouged out by some little cnut for daring to ask him to moderate his behaviour. I wouldn't be a bus/tube driver for a gold fucking clock.
