Call Centres
Dreadful pits of hellish torture for both customer and the people who work there. Press 1 to leave an amusing story, press 2 for us to send you a lunchbox full of turds.

I make
regular charitable donations to the NSPCC, Barnardo's, NDCS, and amnesty international - have done for years. It's only a few quid to each one, but it helps.
The fuckers keep calling every now and then to get me to increase the payments. The next one to call is going to get their donations stopped - hehe.

I get this too, I hate it
I always explain that I have chosen the amount I want to donate, and that's purposeful and not going to change, but they have scripts they have to get through too and it's very, very awkward for both of us.

To be fair....
It's a working technique. People get guilty after a few calls about increasing donations, start wondering if they're getting calls because they're unusually low, etc...
I usually explain that I'm donating as much as I feel comfortable doing, and they thank me and go away.
