I had the opposite happen
when I worked at Natwest I was talking to a client who had broken his wrist snowboarding, I told him that I had just learnt how to snowboard at my local dry slope. He asked where I was based as we should meet up for a snowboarding session. He sounded really disappointed that I was in Bristol (he was in central London).
