In dp's defence......he didn't say the guy came in wearing make-up on a 'casual' day, nor did he say it was at a call centre - the person in question could've been working in a customer-facing role, in which case there will be a specific set of guidelines that need to be met and meeting them will be a part of that person's terms of employment.
That said, if the guy in question was fired for wearing make-up on a 'casual' day at a call centre, then that is atrocious and I hope he sued for wrongful dismissal.
