This is a question Cars

"Here in my car", said 80s pop hero Gary Numan, "I feel safest of all". He obviously never shared the same stretch of road as me, then. Automotive tales of mirth and woe, please.

Riding in the boot,
Is not fun, especially at night.
It might sound cool to pretend to be one of the unluckier characters in Goodfellas, but it isn't.
It's dark, cramped, disorientating (that might be because I'd been drinking though) and there could well be an African face carving bouncing about and hitting you in the face whenever the car does anything.

Also, your friends might be think it's hilarious to do a speed tour of every roundabout in Swindon (Magic's included).

Now I realise how all of those women must have felt
I finally see the error of my ways.

Where else should the women go??
Behind the wheel is definitely not the place.

There's a lovely story I once read
in a biography of Peter Sellers. He'd just bought a brand new Rolls Royce (this was in the 70s, as he was becoming something of a Hollywood star - not during his Goon Show days), and it had an annoying squeak. He'd called on Spike Milligan to help him find it; Spike drove as Peter lay in the boot listening for it.

Driving around London at 3am the inevitable happened and they got pulled over. Imagine the surprise of the police officer on elegantly-dressed Peter getting out of the boot, and suavely wishing the officer a good evening.

Not quite as funny as Spike turning up at newly-married Peter's flat in the wee hours, and ringing the door bell stark naked. When Peter answered the door, Spike asked "can you recommend a good tailor?"
