This is a question Cars

"Here in my car", said 80s pop hero Gary Numan, "I feel safest of all". He obviously never shared the same stretch of road as me, then. Automotive tales of mirth and woe, please.

Automatic bollards > idiots.
In Manchester city centre, there's a street that's closed to all traffic except buses. This restriction is enforced by a set of metal bollards at the end which automatically lower so that buses can pass through. Every now and then, some thick twat will try and outwit this system by tailgating an authorised vehicle in the hope of passing over the bollards while they're lowered; however, they usually wind up wrecking their own vehicle as the bollards start to rise immediately after the authorised vehicle has cleared them.

A few of these incidents have been caught on camera and immortalised.

Some comments posted after that video are a bit stupid aren't they?
People seem to think that a. there's a bloke in a control room watching all day, raising and lowering the bollards and b. the bollards rise mainly as a punishment for impudent drivers who use the bus lane.

haha
Every one of the silly fecks deserved to have their car wrecked for ignoring rules which only work by concensus. It's just a pity the bollards aren't slightly delayed, sharpened, and equipped with a storage area which - having penetrated the cabin of the car - opens up to releasa few dozen africanized honey bees.

Click, for embrightening my somewhat hungover morning.
