I always maintain that it is NOT undertaking if a vehicle in an outer lane is moving at a lower speed, in traffic or not. I'm normally inside lane doing 70, move out to pass artics, move back in... no matter what speed traffic in the other lanes is doing. I don't see the point on an empty motorway of moving from lane 1 to lane 3 to pass a car doing 55mph in lane 2. Same goes for when I'm in the coach, I can do 62mph, if you're doing 55mph... !
