This is a question Cars

"Here in my car", said 80s pop hero Gary Numan, "I feel safest of all". He obviously never shared the same stretch of road as me, then. Automotive tales of mirth and woe, please.

Taking a Peugeot to a Jaguar specialist
Many moons ago I fell asleep on my motorcycle and rode into the back of a Peugeot 406, putting myself in hospital for a week. Fortunately the Peugeot had a doctor at the wheel so he was able to see to my wellbeing despite my having put a bike-shaped dent in the rear of his car.

A few weeks later I got the paperwork from his insurance claim. He'd only gone and taken his Frog piece of crap to a Jaguar bodyshop, well and truly stitching up my insurer. Still, he administered first aid to me, so I wasn't going to complain.

Couple of years ago
Someone drove a little hatchback thingie into the back of my stationary BMW at a red traffic light.

Her front bumper was off, her radiator was cracked and pissing water and steam all over the shop and her bonnet was a little crumpled.

Made sure she was alright, gave her a hand pushing her dead car to the side of the road, swapped details and waited with her while she phoned her dad to come and get her, then with a cheery wave, jumped into my totally undamaged Bavarian tank and drove off chuckling into the sunset.
