my then-girlfriend broke up with me. I had asked her to marry me only a week earlier and I was utterly, utterly heartbroken.

So heartbroken, in fact, that during a tearful, late-night drunken chat a few days later, I asked if shagging her sister would be out of the question. She said "...I don't think she'd be interested."
