There's a book by Neil Strauss (who's a "pro" PUA) and one of his tactics is to "target" one of the girl you're interested in's slightly less attractive friends and completeeeeeely ignore. She does indeed get very jealous, wonder why you're not talking to her as every man usually does and BAM! supposedly you're in.

I don't think this works on guys though sadly. ]: Although I'm yet to try it.
