No-one noticed my leaving...

However, since I hadn't worked for them for 3 months, I see it as I got a free dinner...

how apathetic I'd be about a Christmas party where some fucking pencil pusher found it necessary to issue threats to the participants like that.

If the company has to make it clear they're only doing it grudgingly, then they really shouldn't bother.
