Have to disagree
with you on that. I'm not arty at all, but Banksy's stuff is punchy & way ahead of most "art" hanging in museums. I'd love to walk down the street & see a Banksy mural has appeared overnight. Or some hot dogs come to life & are eating a tramp :)

I'm sick of seeing paintings of nothing, that seem to require a small essay on a plaque next to 'em "From the artist" explaining what they wanted to put into it.

It strips the observer of the right to interpret, lessens the requirement to actually have meaning in the piece. One could make some lines and say it's about the plight of the fucking orangutan.

Banksy says it all in the one piece. Simplistic, meaningful.
Fucking pleasant contrast to the usual moneygrabbing bullshit.
