I don't understand the attraction
Smaug says: Ricky Gervais. Lesbian pr0n. Going into a crowded bar, purely because it's crowded. All these things seem to be popular with everybody else, but I just can't work out why. What leaves you cold just as much as it turns everyone else on?

Have you listened to him?
Because I don't see how people get that. He's shit on TV, but if, when he goes off on one of his radio rants, you don't understand that he's playing a character, that is your look out. Good luck getting Alan Partridge's autograph (he lives in Norwich...)

Well, if he is playing a character
Then the character is not a likeable one, and he's been playing the same one for the last ten years. He must have studied method acting from Robert De Niro, because he's never out of it. Whether being interviewed, or on telly or on radio. He's just a thoroughly objectionable man. Constant sneering and spite shouldn't be confused with humour.
