I don't understand the attraction
Smaug says: Ricky Gervais. Lesbian pr0n. Going into a crowded bar, purely because it's crowded. All these things seem to be popular with everybody else, but I just can't work out why. What leaves you cold just as much as it turns everyone else on?

I think this gets covered in the general
shit that people say...
"they should do something about it"
"typical init"
"in this day'n'age"
"you've got to be so careful now days"
and on and on and on. There's a couple of people at my work that haven't vocalised an original though since 1996.

Your examples are used either as part of a story/rant/complaint or in response to one, they're terrible clichés still but my point is people see this as being worthy of saying on it's own, as if it was a ground breaking observation that has Nobel prize written all over it.
