Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."
My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.
What stuff do you think is common?

The white bits of my trainers are whiter than my teeth. This is largely because they rarely exit the cupboard where they live save for exercise (or 'training'). They're mostly black, anyway.
I know what the inside of a holding cell looks like! We went on a trip to a police station at cubs. I suppose that really means that I know what the inside of a holding cell looked like twenty years ago, and my memory of that is a mite fuzzy. Alright, you win.
