Common
Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."
My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.
What stuff do you think is common?

I have two mates who have recently bought cars
Both spent about five grand.
One spend three grand on a BMW 318i, and the change on getting it debadged, big alloys, lowered suspension and bright blue headlight bulbs. It's slow, noisy, uncomfortable and it can't get over speed bumps.
The other bought two Citroen Xantias (a 2.1TD and an Activa) and a Jaguar. All of them look a bit tatty but go like hell. Oh, and he spent the 1500 quid change on insurance, new tyres and getting the Jag and the Activa valeted.
I'm not sure which is more common, having a barried-up BMW or having three cars sitting out the front...
