My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

I think of it asanyone who exhibits behaviour that I consider "beneath" me, which strangely doesn't leave much and yet there's a wealth of stuff in there thanks to the burberry brigade.
