My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.

Firefox spell checker FTWI have decent sized laptop keys and normal sized fingertips (I can also touch-type reasonably well) and yet I still can't do without spell checker.
