Freddy Woo writes, "My wife thinks calling the front room a lounge is common. Worse, a friend of hers recently admonished her daughter for calling a toilet, a toilet. Lavatory darling. It's lavatory."
My own mother refused to let me use the word 'oblong' instead of 'rectangle'. Which is just odd, to be honest.
What stuff do you think is common?

She's been found dead, probably murdered, and leaving her child motherless. Not funny at all.

and feel rather guilty as though I've invaded her privacy now. It's awful. How can a young girl go missing for 18 months without anyone seemingly realising?

Mocking of truly stupid tasteless individuals who live next door is one thing but mocking a girl who you don't know who has been found dead and left her little girl without a mother is another. Have you ever seen the photos of an excavation of a shallow grave, the body after? Have you any idea what it's like to be one of those people having to pick up the pieces after such a truly awful act? Do you know what it is to lose a daughter, even is family life has never been ideal? If the answer to any of those is yes than you ought to be ashamed. I've always read b3ta because it puts a witty spin on things that a true, not mercilessly cheapens human life.
