I like writing letters of complaint to companies containing the words "premier league muppetry", if only to give the poor office workers a good laugh on an otherwise dull day. Have you ever complained? Did it work?

My ex worked at American Express, in the customer service department. One day they received a package containing a card which had been carefully rolled into a tube shape, and a tub of Vaseline.

The message was clear...

Melt it and wrap it round a suitable mould.
You'd probably have to put it in the oven to get it hot enough.

mercifully briefly, I would have quite happily carried out his implied threat on the entire middle-management. That said, this is Brighton we're talking about and a mere credit card would have left quite a few of them feeling rather cheated.
