This is a question Complaining

I like writing letters of complaint to companies containing the words "premier league muppetry", if only to give the poor office workers a good laugh on an otherwise dull day. Have you ever complained? Did it work?

Or...
if it's completely necessary to have new carpets, avoid by a nautical mile Carpet Wrong, thieving cheap nasty evil rug munching scrotes the lot of them. The carpets are that cheap for a reason. Go independent. Recently had whole house fitted, (only small new build two bed semi) with thick underlay(£5.00sqm), 100% wool (£11.99sqm) loop pile carpet for £1200. Carpet Wrong wanted that for cheap ass 5.99sqm + underlay + separate fitting charge. They charge so much because they sell you so much more than you need, they don't measure accurately as it's not in their interest to get the maximum use of the carpet they sell you! Thieving bastards.

Thanks guys...
a bit late now, but salient advice for any reader of the comments.

The fitter did a cracking job (open plan stairs).
As per the amount they sold... I noticed in the van when they'd finished a rather substantial roll of the carpet and asked whether they had another job using the same carpet. No they didn't.
It was what was left over from mine... they suggested that it must have been the end of a roll and that I can have it if I wanted it.
Too bloody right I did.... even if I end up dumping it.

What I fancy tho is some way of edging it so that I can have rugs on my parquet flooring.
