hmmI think we might be about to get into one hand clapping in a forest.
Yin is the dark side of the mountain (as opposed to the sunny side) but is also the cool and calm, as opposed to the fiery and aggressive.
The mandelbrot of metaphors, if you will.
Personally I think that a little figure of a man nailed to a plank has infinitely deeper shades of meaning.

Since I remain defiantly old agewhen it comes to new age nonsense, I'll concede you know more. But as far as my limited knowledge goes yin is more often associated with the negative, the dark and calm.
