This is a question Conned

swiftyisNOTevil writes, "I have recently become obsessed with the BBC Three show 'The Real Hustle' - personally, I think of it as a 'How To' show for aspiring con artists."

Have you carried out a successful con? Perhaps you hustled a few quid off a stranger, or defrauded a multi-national company. Or have you been taken for the wide-eyed, naive rube that you are?

I've been left with 7 grand's worth of uni debts.

I was there for a fucking year and got jack shit out of it, I can't even say I have a degree.

if that's not a con then I don't know what is.

villain
The real villain of this piece is whoever the hell managed to con you into thinking you were smart enough to go to uni.

7 grand in 1 year?
a: kinda hard to get a 2-year or 4-year degree in only 1 year

b: sounds like you screwed yourself on that one

3 grand tuition fees
3 and a half grand living loan
500 quid overdraft.

= £7000

so being left with that amount of debt isn't my fault. Well, the 500 quid, yes.

I passed the year so didn't leave because I was too thick to be there

I left after a year because I didn't want to get into at least £13000 more of debt doing a history degree that wouldn't lead me to any kind of job I'd want to be doing.

ummm
That means you are only three grand down - the loan and overdraft is money you frittered away. So your fault then. It's no one elses fault that you didn;t get finish either.

For the record, the average graduate earns over £400,000 across their lifetime than the average non-graduate. Fact.
