This is a question Conned

swiftyisNOTevil writes, "I have recently become obsessed with the BBC Three show 'The Real Hustle' - personally, I think of it as a 'How To' show for aspiring con artists."

Have you carried out a successful con? Perhaps you hustled a few quid off a stranger, or defrauded a multi-national company. Or have you been taken for the wide-eyed, naive rube that you are?

I have taken up a part time hobby,,
As a post-modernist conceptual artist.
I spend one night a week in Hoxton Juice Bars talking to people called Quentin, or Jocasta in a loud voice about post modernist surrealism. I also submit highly questionable objects to the Tate Modern to be entered for the Turner Prize.
Last year I wrote my name in Semen on a leopard's forehead, and displayed it under a single anglepoise lamp.
The year before, I filled a jam jar with my nasal detritus over a year and submitted that. I called it "A celebration of brutalist architecture in a post modernist cold war", or "Money for Old Rope" to give it it's shortened title.

I think I caught your exhibition at the tate. Very disturbing but with a feminine feel. I love what you did with the semen - very now!

Next year I plan to submit a pyramid made out of dog faeces
topped with a small street urchin. (I'll probably call it Hazelkenny's Mountain).

In truth!
I actually did Fine Art at uni and stayed well away from the pretentious bollocks - but then again I didn't get my degree. Too busy having a life.

I never tell the truth...
But then you know that ;-)

I know you never tell teh truth but it doesn't stop the rest of us doing it.

My truth is too boring...
The James Bond-esque persona of Lunar Jim which I have created for myself with his wide raft of dubious work experience and his penchant for a lager-tops (shaken not stirred) is far more interesting than the real thing believe me.

I like the conceptual games you play with the apostrophe in "it's" in the last line...

Some might say that avoiding prententious bollocks in a fine art degree is akin to avoiding numbers in maths...
(, Wed 24 Oct 2007, 16:40, closed)
.. has very few numbers in it at degree level i found to my disgust.

You fucking robbing bastard, that was MY idea with the leopard, I bet you used my semen too didn't you? Bastard!
