An early design for the Confederate flag
looked like this:
But the designer got a letter from Charles Moise, a self-described "Southerner of Jewish persuasion," who asked that "the symbol of a particular religion not be made the symbol of the nation."
He changed the cross to a diagonal one because "it avoided the religious objection about the cross."
So if you want to upset a member of Ku Klux Klan, tell them the Confederate States of America was subservient to the Jews.
PS The crescent moon probably proves the Muslims were in on it as well.

Except the crescent moon isn't a universal symbol for Islam in the way the cross is for Christianity.
