This is a question Controversial Beliefs

Some mugs still think the MMR injection gives children autism (it doesn't), while others are of the belief that we're ruled by billionaire lizard people. Tell us about views outside the mainstream which people go glassy eyed if you bang on about them (Your grandad's a racist - no need to tell us, thanks)

Pretty well, yes.

why, because those who are poor are irresponsible?

Having children when you can't afford to raise them is pretty much the definition of irresponsible

just rely on the welfare state, innit?

And anyone whose income drops beneath the level initially required to reproduce should have their children forcibly removed and euthanased.

this sounds sensible

I suspect that a 'poor' person could probably do a damn fine job of raising a child
But 5? Maybe not. Is it fair for the children to be born into a family that cannot support it? I don't believe it is.

regardless of wealth, having your attention divided between 5 children is going to make parenting difficult

Not if you can afford a childminder or a boarding school to do it for you

(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 16:45, closed)
i don't think that is parenting

(, Thu 25 Apr 2013, 17:23, closed)
It's how the upper classes have done it for centuries
