Speaking as someone who has attempted suicide on more than one occasionI can now say that all three were definitely selfish acts. Furthermore I know of many others who have first hand experience and they all agree. It is very hard to kill yourself and, in my opinion, those that succeed only do so because were both selfish to the extreme and very very unlucky.
Being selfless is the only way I have found to prevent it.
