Comedian Al Murray recounts a run-in with industrial-scale stupidity: "Car insurance company rang, without having sent me a renewal letter, asking for money. Made them answer security questions." In the same vein, tell us your stories about pointless paperwork and corporate quarter-wits

I had a good boss :)
AND I fucking deserved it because I'd been below the curve for a number of years.

...there's any chance you could email me your PDR is there? I hate doing them, I only need a few pointers...

...to when you didn't have to fanny about with PDR's though to get a pay rise and training, you just got them on your own merits and sheer hard work. Now companies like to hit you over the head with them as soon as you put a foot wrong.

I used to get them when I worked for bigger businesses.
Now I'm in an SME, in the last six years, I've had two of them, both during my first calendar year here. My contract of employment specifically says that the company handbook constitutes part of the contract Ts&Cs, and the company handbook says we get a PDR once a year.
So despite being a slacker at present, I'm fairly comfortable that they won't be able to get rid of me easily or cheaply because they've been in breach of contract for the past five years for the whole staff.

I'm also on a fucking hour long telecon on Risk.
Any good ideas for 'Objectives for 2012' anyone?
