Hotel Splendido
Enzyme writes, "what about awful hotels, B&Bs, or friends' houses where you've had no choice but to stay the night?"
What, the place in Oxford that had the mattresses encased in plastic (crinkly noises all night), the place in Blackpool where the night manager would drum to the music on his ipod on the corridor walls as he did his rounds, or the place in Lancaster where the two single beds(!) collapsed through metal fatigue?
Add your crappy hotel experiences to our list.

how odd
I was thinking about posting on this QOTW but thought the better of it, seeing as I know a lot of people read the posts here, and don't want all the secrets to come out...
But I was thinking of posting about the Dniepr hotel in Kiev, where the walls were made of plastic, the sinks swivelled out over the loo on a hinge, the TV wouldn't turn off and only played Pink "I'm coming up" (or whatever it's called) 24hrs a day for three days and, as you say, it had a remarkable pole dancing club right under my room.
My god I hated that place. The plates cemented in the walls in the restaurant, the 'classy' pianist on the grand piano at FUCKING BREAKFAST time, the poor little 17 year old hookers being enrolled in the foyer in front of everyone.
The worst part? I was working for a Major european bank and we had a stricly 5 star, business class travel policy. They assured me this was the best place in the country...
