Memories of 1977
My first programming training, course in Ealing, booked into Regents Palace, arrived on new Honda Goldwing (before they covered them with turds - when it was a tasty bike). Went to the garage on Brewer street to park whilst I got my room. Garage owner asked me what I was doing, he said to put it downstairs next to Ralph Richardson's bike, and to simply give 'the lads' a crate of beer when I was done. Hotel was astonishing for 21 year old lad, hookers outside the lifts on every floor. Soho was 3 places, the Soho of the day, the theatre Soho of the evening, and of course, the Soho of the night.
