At least I was trying to do the right thingLast winter when I was taking the bus into work on a more regular basis, I'd often be on a packed bus with someone who actually needed to sit down, but, for whatever reason, couldn't find a seat. So, assuming I was nearby, I'd happily give them my seat, and ordinarily, they'd be happier sat down, and I had done my good deed for the week.
Anyway, one day, I was on the bus, thoroughly engaged in my mp3 player and a game of bejewelled on my phone, when I noticed a pregnant woman standing in front of me. So, I dutifully got up, and motioned with my hand that she should sit down. Only she didn't sit down, and when I more vigourously motioned to the seat she began to glare at me. At this point, I thought "fuck it, stay stood up then", and went back to my entertainment.
Only when said woman got off the bus in front of me and I got a good look at her, I realised that yes, she was in fact fat and not pregnant, and I had, in front of the whole bus, emphasised that fact.
The cringing feeling stayed with me for a while, and it has taught me to size up the potential pregnant women a bit more carefully.

Neverassume a woman is pregnant unless you can actually *see* the baby coming out of her. I've also made this mistake. But I;ve also been on the receiving end of it as well...

My beloved bbw wife...was on a diet site the other day, and there was a picture of a 'fat' woman on there.
I pointed to it, and said about the various b3tan's who'd suggested pregnancy to a large lady only to be alerted to their size rather than their condition.
My wife, same age as me, says its happened to her many times, but not recently as people don't expect 'old' (she's 50) women to be pregnant.
Then my 18 yr old bbw stepdaughter pipes up with "Its only happened to me once, but I was only 13 at the time."
