Cunning Plans
I once devised a totally foolproof cunning plan to attract the attention of bikini-clad women, which - as you might imagine - failed miserably. Ever come up with a cunning plan for something? Did it work? What went wrong? Do you look back through the filter of the years with a burning sense of shame?

I remember it
as crumbly dry brown coloured stuff. That was called red leb, which might be a different thing.
Used to get through a fair bit of that in the mid 80's. If I remember, £12 for an 8th sounds about right.

Red leb
was as you recollect, slightly crumbly and brown and turned up in canvas wrapped kilo sized blocks from, unsurpisingly, Lebanon. The civil war killed the trade although apparently it.s picked up again more recently.
The squidy black was popularly known as squidgy black and came in oversized soap bar looking blocks which were wrapped in cellophane which were usually red or gold in my era. Originated in India/Pakistan or Afghanistan and called red or gold seal. Stronger than Lebanese.
The other common type was the slate like rocky, from Morocco which was the lowest potency and not highly regarded.
Once in a blue moon Brown Nepalese temple balls would show up and were very good indeed.
