HahaI get it too, but less intense / surreal. Its just after waking up whilst still not really awake. Can be terrifying.
The best one was when I woke up and hallucinated a kind of hunched, hag-like old woman lurking over the bed and went "AAARRRRRGGGHHHH" and woke my wife up. She screamed of course, further convincing me that we were being lurked at, inciting more shouting from me and, in turn, more screaming from her.
Thus ensued several minutes of hiding under the covers together screaming for no reason.
*Edit - Ultralurkage!!! Some sort of medal deserved there.
